Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica-Cathedral

Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica-Cathedral

Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica-Cathedral was built in 1647. The church’s name used to be Notre-Dame de la Paix. Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica-Cathedral probably is the most extensively expanded and transformed structure in Canada’s history still dedicated to its original purpose. The church has a rough history as it was bombarded and burned in 1759 during the British siege and was burned once again in 1922.

In the past, pilgrims had the chance to pass through the Holy Door. It is believed that the Holy Door gives us the golden opportunity to collect lost parts of our lives. The Hold Door experience has been closed since November 2016, however, you may still go on pilgrimage to Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica-Cathedral. They also offer exhibits that showcase paintings, sacred vessels, gold-embroided sacerdotal garbs, etchings, sculptures, and archives for only $5. For pilgrimage reservations, you may visit their website.

Evangelical Church Chauveau was founded in Quebec in the mid-1970s by Pastor Jan Gazdik. During that time, the service was held at a private home with only 14 people. Today, there are more than 250 people (children and adults) that gather every Sunday morning for church. If you are looking to connect with people that share your values and beliefs, they do have a “Connection” group that you can gather with.
