Librairie La Liberte Inc.

Librairie La Liberte Inc. was created by Lucius Laliberté in 1945 to share his love of literature with others. He subsequently took over his father’s tobacco shop and had the guts to rename it in order to finish his goal. He then became active in a variety of initiatives aimed at promoting Quebec’s cultural life through the medium of literature. Following that, his son Christian Laliberté took over the firm, and the history of the La Liberté bookstore has been perpetuated for more than ten years thanks to the engagement of a third-generation, Éléna Laliberté.
