Dismount Bike Shop
Dismount Bike Shop is a full-service family bicycle store specializing in city, adventure, mountain, and children’s bicycles. They have a coffee shop inside their walls that serves as a social center for the city and provides you with a one-of-a-kind bike shopping experience. Moreover, it has given them a lot of joy in our lives, and they want to help you have those moments on a bike that opens your mind to what is possible on two wheels. “Pedalinx is by far my favourite bike shop in Toronto. Great service, competitive prices, friendly and helpful staff, and a good selection of bikes, gear and components. My boyfriend and I have both purchased bikes (Specialized Crosstrail for him and Specialized Diverge for me) here and the ongoing support has been amazing. Plus, it’s nice to know your local bike guys and support a local shop! 11/10 recommend.” – Yinze X
Bateman’s Bicycle Company
Bateman’s Bicycle Company debuted in the Annex on Barton Avenue with the aim of addressing the needs of Toronto cyclists in the nicest and most competent manner possible. They extended their “historic” repair shop in March 2011. They renovated an 1886 Annex barn next to the shop, and according to a “local tradition,” the very room where your bikes are being nursed back to health may be the very space where the first-ever Polio vaccine was found! It didn’t take long for them to start stretching the seams at the new store, and it was clear that they had outgrown this space.

“Because the store was closed (covid), I emailed them to see if they had any Yuba cargo bikes in stock that I could gift my wife for Mother’s Day. The owner, Rob, got back to me right away — and then custom built a bike for her in two days! Then when I got to the store to pick it up, I realized the bike was too long to fit in my van. So he RODE THE BIKE TO MY HOUSE for me. If that’s not the best customer service in Toronto, I don’t know what is. The bike is awesome. My wife loves it. My kids love it. And I know if anything ever goes wrong with it, Rob will take care of it, no fuss. A+++” – Noelle Carbone
Curbside Cycle
Curbside Cycle started importing tested, trendy, and basic city bikes from Europe, frustrated by the market supremacy of adrenaline performance bikes, launching a supply chain that now spans the continent. Fourth Floor Distribution, the first company in North America to deliver real city bikes to the people, was established in 2007. They envisioned an all-encompassing barrier-free bike, one that is more like your car: quiet, low-maintenance, long-lasting, and, above all, fashionable, keeping your clothes free of oil and grime. It’s not exactly revolutionary, but then again, the best things rarely are.

“Great service from Curbside Cycle straight from the get-go. I’d say if you’re going to buy a bike from anywhere, buy it from here. The staff are super friendly, and help you find a bike that works best for you. Not only that, but for an additional small fee, they’ll put the bike together for you, and have it ready to ride and at your door, if you so choose. This makes it super easy to get going, and start your new bike journey on the right foot. Very satisfied with Curbside Cycle, and will continue to support the business as best I can.” – Matthew McKay
Toronto Bike Repair
Toronto Bike Repair started on Bloor and Dovercourt in November 2014, just as Torontonians were putting their bikes away for the season. For others, the timing was perplexing, but it was a calculated decision on Angelo’s part.  During the winter, he was able to settle into the neighborhood and get a better understanding of his customers’ needs. Since then, Toronto Bike Repair has become a Bloorcourt hotspot for antique bikes that have been lovingly repaired while remaining affordable.

“Always a pleasure! Great, knowledgeable repair persons who offer a reasonable price with quick turn-around. Expect service to take a little bit longer during the pandemic, but they’re commuted to get you and your bike up and riding as soon as possible.” – Air’leth Aodhfin
