“Yoga Santosha has become a second home, both before and during Covid 19. The teachers are knowledgeable, articulate, caring and diverse. The staff are professional and welcoming. The studios on 4th St. and 14th St. are clean and inviting. The daily classes, currently live streaming, are varied and enjoyable. Other offerings, including 200 hour teacher training and workshops, are led by committed, expert yogis.” – Deni Cashin
Passage Studios had curtains for partitions and scratch papers for sign-in sheets in 2003, all under the rickety roof of a heritage structure in the heart of Downtown YYC. Fast forward to Fall 2018, when, with a little love and hard work, they extended their space and services to include Spin and HIIT exercises on the first floor of the Heritage building. At Passage, they hope that people of all cultures and stories will find a sense of identity and community here as they make their way up the stairs to the studio. The Passage family, which includes patrons, staff, students, and volunteers, is what makes this place so unique and sacred.

“Passage is the first place I ever tried yoga. It has the most wonderful teachers who live and teach with intention and integrity. The owner and team are passionate about building a supportive community focused on health and well-being. They offer affordable classes which increased my fitness and added to my sense of self by connecting body and spirit. I will always be grateful for finding such a peaceful and lovely place to train and practice!” – Kathleen Jackson

“I’ve spent the last 7 years in a wheelchair and finally can participate in something outside the chair. The yoga at Metta has been amazing and has catered to my limitations every time I’ve needed them. The instructors are friendly, professional, and so are all the clients. They keep the facility so clean and bright and there are classes for all skill levels and styles. Metta makes sure they are protecting staff and clients from Covid and being immune compromised, I still feel I can attend classes here during these times. I’m glad I found them and their prices beat anyone else I’ve found in the city.” – Darcy McCurdy

“I’m a Yoga Shala “boomerang”. I started with them in 2013 after trying a few other studios, and just loved all the teachers, classes and my experience there (including the fabulous Mysore program, which is a very unique personal yoga journey). For various life stuff reasons, I stopped going regularly, but continued a home practice, inspired by my Shala time. They were always in the back of my mind and in 2020, I was able to return. The Shala is amazing; inclusive, welcoming, genuine and really relaxed. The community is low-key and friendly. I just love it and am so glad to be back!” – Noreen Samra
Yogadotcalm approaches the yoga practice with an unbiased view and a light spirit. Their studio’s serene atmosphere is enhanced by large picture windows that let in the light and inspiration needed for yoga practice. Their mission statement has remained the same since their founding in 2002, which to create a positive yoga culture of which both students and teachers are proud to be a part of, and to teach yoga in a peaceful, friendly, and enjoyable environment. A large faculty of professors, the majority of whom have over 500 hours of preparation and several years of experience, facilitate the diversity of courses they deliver. All students are welcome, from the experienced yogi to the brand-new yogi.
