REVIEWS:

“An absolutely amazing store. The entire place has a charming casual hipster/vintage vibe – you could go here for that alone. I was extremely pleased with the selection they had to offer too – especially when it comes to vintage clothing. I got some pretty cool jackets at extremely good prices. And if you just want to grab a bite with friends and read a book – this place definitely has the perfect ambience for it. Personally, I’ll visit them without fail everytime I’m in Montreal.” – Adithya Philip

L N F Shop

L N F Shop
L N F Shop has a low environmental impact because they don’t build any demand for new products and don’t use any in their daily activities. For you and your house, they search, verify, clean, and stock a collection of high-quality, previously used, fashionably important, one-of-a-kind pieces. Hand washes, machine wash, dish wash, dry-clean, steam, buff, repair, and revise each piece so that it is ready to use right away.  Their goal is to present you with what you’re looking for at prices that make you happy.

“I’m a huge fan of EcoDepot. Their selection is always great– unique, diverse, and ever changing. The prices are really fair, too! Last week I got this cozy chair, and paired with this little stool also from EcoDepot, I have a slice of heaven. It cost me less than $75 and I feel really good about recycling, too. They offer delivery through a subcontractor who I had a good experience with, as well. I highly recommend.” – Taylor Rouleau

Le Magasin du Chaînon

Le Magasin du ChaînonLe Magasin du Chaînon has been carried by compassionate people in the past eighty-five years. Yvonne Maisonneuve, the organization’s founder, dedicated herself to a cause she felt was just important, which is helping women in need. After that, devoted collaborators arrive to lend a hand and volunteer to help Yvonne Maisonneuve with her work. These urban missionaries laid the groundwork for Le Chaînon, which has grown into Quebec’s primary shelter for women in distress. The way they communicate, interfere and collaborate reflects their society. The person who is impacted by these services is at the center of all decisions and policies implemented in the group.

“So blessed to have le chainon as my neighborhood thrift shop. my favorite sections are the books ($1 on mondays!) and cosmetics (i think jean coutu donates a lot of new stuff here… i found organic maxi pads & natural laundry detergent for $2 last time). i’ve also found some vintage houseware & clothing gems. and your donations & purchases support a longstanding, well respected organization helping women in difficult situations. win win!” – Marie Sullivan

“Ah, thrifting! A guilty pleasure for some, a lifestyle for others. A source of costumes/props for the theatre set, a way to fill out the Corelle bakeware set you inherited from granny, even a source of decent artwork for the patient thrifter. This place ticks all the boxes. We’ll laid out, as organized as such stores ever get (don’t set your expectations too high!), and brimming with hidden treasures to reward the patient. They also haven’t (yet!) succumbed to the “we think we’re really an antique store” pricing of the similar, but vastly inferior, Salvation Army store close by in NDG. Definitely worth a visit or twenty” – Brian Bradley
