Au Petit Extra was established in 1985, when Jean Filippi and Pierre Charron, two former waiters from Faubourg Saint-Denis, purchased Deux Cousines, a small bistro in the Center-Sud district that was only available for lunch. This is where the Petit Extra was born. They knew it was a major challenge to step outside of the conventional restaurant system, however, the suggested approach, which was marked by a warm reception, attentive service, and premium food that is as generous as it is innovative, led rapidly to ensuring the success of the restaurant.

“Our first stop after we checked into the hotel. Got there around 9:30 am and right away the staff was very friendly and welcomed us and guided us to our seats. We ordered our breakfast and two coffees. As self proclaimed coffee connoisseurs, we ordered two cortado’s and they were delicious. It was not on their menu but the waitress knew what it was. La Chronique
La Chronique was established by Marc De Canck in March 1995, after spending several years in numerous renowned establishments in Quebec. In 1999, the young Olivier de Montigny was brought under his wing, and since then the two formed a high-flying duo. It’s now one of Montreal’s great tables, and the reviews are still laudatory and important, and now offers an influenced and gourmet cuisine of irreproachable consistency with the simple and sober presence of a small bistro.
