Pacific Spirit Regional Park

Pacific Spirit Regional Park offers a network of trails contained in more than 750 hectares of forest located in the University Endowment Lands, on Point Grey to the west of the city. The park contains over 73 km of walking and hiking trails which 50 km of it are designated multi-use and available for cycling and horseback riding as well. The trails in the park are popular with local residents and accessible all year-round. The best way to see the park is to view the park map and determine one’s own route. Visitors should be careful of mountain bikers and horseback riders who also share the multi-use trails in this section of the park.

It is nice and convenient for it being in a bustling city. Very busy though even on a rainy day. There are 🚻 (actual washrooms not outhouses) spread throughout. UBC Botanical Garden

The University of British Colombia Botanical Garden is the country’s oldest university botanic garden. It was established in 1916 under the directorship of John Davidson, British Columbia’s first provincial botanist. The VanDusen Botanical Garden (VBGA) was created in 1966 by a group of gardening enthusiasts keen to see a public garden built on the site of the former Shaughnessy Golf Course. Cypress Falls

Last on the list is Cypress Falls. It is the perfect hike to do during the winter months when other trails at higher elevations are buried under snow. Just a short walk will take visitors through a dense forest full of old Cedar and Douglas Fir trees while following Cypress Creek up past two beautiful waterfalls. The hiking trail winds through forests of Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar trees covered in moss from the moist environment. Just a little further along the trail and at the bottom of a short hill is a viewpoint of the lower Cypress Falls from a rocky viewing area.
