“One of my favourite bakeries in Montréal – highlights include the fougasse – ail confit & fromage, herbes de Provence or olives – all 3 are great // and the pain aux fesses with potatoes are stand out items. But their bread and viennoiseries are excellent too. Love how they sell their slightly older product at reduced price instead of chucking it out ” – Lawrence Colsell

“This is the best bakery around! I almost always make a special visit here when I’m in Montreal just to get the cheese bagels. They’re absolutely terrific. I have been eating these cheese bagels for as long as I can remember. They’ve got a lot of other kosher stuff as well that’s all quite tasty. The owner is friendly and they’re usually pretty quick. You can always expect to get something fresh and delicious.” – Gregg Vertes

Pâtisserie Rhubarbe made a modest debut in October 2010. Stéphanie Labelle saw a need in Montreal for a pastry shop where fresh items could be found every day, as well as decent seasonal ingredients. From the beginning of the pastry shop, Julien Joré, a chef with over 20 years of experience, has been assisting Stéphanie. It’s been a part of history from the beginning, but it came together formally through the extension. After 8 years in the pastry shop and catering industry, she wanted to go for it and open in this charming location on rue De Lanaudière.

“We tried 3 different items: a butter croissant, a pistachio & grapefruit pastry, and a salted caramel mille feuille. All of the were stunning, but the pistachio & grapefruit pastry was the best pastry I had the entire trip! The space itself is a good size, with roughly 5-6 tables and a few counter seats. Decor is also very modern!” – Bram Sermon
