Hamilton Antique Mall
Hamilton Antique Mall was once a furniture business called “Adams Furniture” when it was built in 1950. A wealthy businessman named Tom converted it to a wallpaper store called “A Big Big WallPaper Store” in the early twentieth century. In the wallpaper store, you can find anything from the kitschy dark forest green and maroon Victorian decor revival in prints of hunting dogs, chickens roosting in nests, and so on from the late 1980s and 1990s. The older rolls are in the basement, while the newest designs are on the main floor. When Tom retired in 2017, this massive wallpaper business shuttered for forever.

“I just love coming here! Mostly I find cool stuff that I don’t need but once in a while I skip home completely inspired by some relic. Today my guy found a game he used to play with his grandmother. Made him so happy.” – Kelly Shanks

“Mid century modern furniture in various configurations and sizes. Lots of unique ceiling lamps and 2 aisles of records. The furniture is not priced at a steal but if you are looking for good quality & well maintained pieces, this is probably where you are going to want to be.” – Johan Thomas
The Freelton Antique Mall
The Freelton Antique Mall is owned by Fred and Char. Fred and Char were antique collectors who hoped to one day establish their own shop. In 1996, they came upon the Freelton antique market, which sold antiques as well as one-of-a-kind crafts. They started out as vendors and bought the market a year later. After Fred’s untimely death in 2010, Char wanted to keep their dream alive by continuing his passion for antiques.
Prior to Char’s death in 2011, their daughter Penny bought the store and renamed it The Freelton Antique Mall. With the same enthusiasm and ambition as her parents, the mall’s business hours were extended to seven days a week, and the number of merchants was raised to over 200.

“A Hamilton staple small business that must be protected at all costs! The owner is super friendly, the store is packed full of stuff for all your oddity amusement, and the prices are fair on so many one of a kind and extraordinary things. Probably my go to shop for unique gifts going forward. It was so incredible to see oddments and unique historical pieces from all over the world – ancient jewelry, old tapestries, historical medical equipment, skeletons, taxidermy, Hamilton historical maps and notices, dinosaur poo… Their inventory is huge. Basically a museum where you can actually buy the artefacts.” – Adam George Palios
